The tragic moment is always delivered in varied tunes. It could sound like,“I just don’t feel like I’m in love with you anymore,” or it could come out like: “I think I want to start seeing other people.” It could be a blunt blow, “You and I are not working – I’m out,” or something a little gentler: “I like you, but I don’t see myself marrying you.” Then, of course, you have the classic, albeit not-so-classy lines: “I’ve met someone else…better than you,” or “I’m pretty sure I’m gay for now on and I’m also pretty sure that you are the cause.” It’s The Break Up, the moment of disappointment and denial, and though it hurts to revisit these dark realms, we’re donning our ski-masks and waving our white flags because it’s time to surrender the ONE truth about men when it comes to breaking up: We are not so good at it.
